Sunshine Room is a provision for children who are deaf and partially hearing. Vernon Terrace Primary School includes a specialist unit provision which offers additional enhanced support to children who are deaf with hearing loss of varying degrees. Our specialised team, including a qualified Teacher of the Deaf, offer support to up to eight children aged between 4 and 11 years old.

Our provision for deaf and partially hearing children has been based at the school for over 30 years and we have built up a vast amount of experience and knowledge to help us support them. All children benefit from being part of a vibrant and caring mainstream primary school as well as additional specialist support, facilities and resources.
